Open on scene of a man coming out of crowded elevator in office building lobby leaving work. He is in a hurry and trying to make his way through a mass of other business people also leaving work.
​
Man emerges from building and quickly checks his watch. When he looks down at his watch he bumps into a businesswoman. The contents of her purse spill out onto the sidewalk. Man apologizes and stoops to help her collect her things.
​
As man is kneeling down, he hears something that grabs his attention. He turns his ear to listen - ignoring the woman he was helping.

Cut to scene of meter maid in parking enforcement vehicle slowly puttering down the street (sound of stopwatch starts)
​
Man starts to panic, checks his pockets and realizes he does not have any change.
He look around frantically trying to decide what to do. He spots a newsstand across the street and bolts through traffic. Cars screech to a stop as man dashes around them.

Man reaches newsstand and asks for change. Newspaper vendor angrily tells man to go away change is for customers only.

Man hears something again. (cut to parking enforcement vehicle puttering closer to the block where the man's car is parked).
​
Man turns quickly and pushes his way through crowded street and turns to cut down an alley. He has to avoid a garbage truck and delivery trucks. At the far end of the alley he sees meter maid drive by (sound of stopwatch grows louder).
​
When man emerges from alley, he sees a street vendor selling flowers. Man: "I need some quarters." Vendor: "You gotta buy some flowers first." Man angrily reaches into his pocket pays $10.25 for a single rose with a $20.00 bill, grabs his quarters and begins to run toward his car again. He sees Meter Maid approaching his car. He sprints to try and get to his car before she does. As he is running he hears horn blast and the sound of a train moving. He is startled by the sound of the horn and looks to see where it came from He trips over a crack in the sidewalk drops his flower and spills his change.(As he gets to his feet, sound of stopwatch stops)

(cut to shot of parking meter flashing zero)

He sees the Meter Maid has given him a ticket and is pulling away. Man throws down his bag, looks to the sky and screams "F___" Just as he starts to scream Metra train horn blares out his scream

(cut to back of Metra train heading off into distance)

Metra — Date
​
Open on scene of a man pulling up to parking spot by a parking meter in front of a restaurant after circling the block several times trying to find a spot He parks the car and goes around to passenger side to open door for his date.. He then puts change in the parking meter that says $6.00 per hour 2 hour maximum. He synchronizes his watch to the meter (sound of stopwatch starts ticking) He says to his date, in a hurried tone, "Let's go Honey" and rushes her into the restaurant.

They approach host and inform him they have a reservation. Host says" It will be just a minute." Man checks his watch and sighs in disgust. When they finally get seated, the man wants to order immediately., but the server is no where to be found and his date can't decide what she wants.
​
Man checks watch impatiently then says he has got to feed the meter, then realizes he does not have any change and bugs the host for some change. Host takes a long time to return with quarters. ( sound of stopwatch ticking louder.)
​
Man rushes out to pay meter and returns to table to apologize to date. His date hasn't made up her mind yet and excuses herself to go to the bathroom. Man somewhat frustrated says "That's okay. Let me order for you, you'll love it." Then kisses date.
Man is waiting for his date to come back to the table. All the while he keeps checking his watch
Date finally returns to table and Man say to her. "Sorry but I've got to go feed the meter again."
Man returns to table again. The food has arrived. Man begins to quickly devour his food. Date says "Honey slow down, what's the big hurry?" Man (checking his watch)) says, "There's almost no time left on the meter." (sound of stopwatch gets progressively louder. Man says to Date, "You order dessert. I'll go out and feed the meter again." Date is annoyed and says OK Fine!"

After feeding the meter for the third time, the Man goes back into restaurant to find his date is gone.He throws cash on the table where the dessert sits untouched. He races around restaurant looking for her. He then heads outside to look for his date. (Sound of stopwatch comes to an abrupt stop)

Man goes to car to find he's gotten another parking ticket. He angrily throws the ticket into his back seat where it lands in a pile of other unpaid parking tickets, slams his door and begins to scream "F___ Sound of Metra horn blares out his scream. He look to where the sound came from and sees his date getting on the train

(Cut to Metra train pulling away from station.)
